Powerful words. We need to be ruthless in our self examination...

As for me... I have the tendency to live my life as if my treasure were my gadgets and not in heaven. To my shame.

I seemed to turn your blog into something of a confessional there! Sorry about that. I wonder what it is that you struggle with? Care to share?

That is a very good question. I took some time and pondered this while I was walking my dog Barkley tonight. One of the idols that I have is privacy. I like to be left alone and not to be noticed. Where this becomes sinister is when I start allowing my desire for privacy to keep me from truly relating with people.

I can relate. I have been known to actively chase after "a simple life". Which is no crime, until the desire for peace and quiet becomes pre-eminent...
