The Way of the Pilgrim

In his book Hebrews: A Call to Commitment, William Lane describes Christians as pilgrims journeying toward the New Creation, a perspective explored in this blog post. Drawing from Hebrews, the post emphasizes that believers, like Abraham, are called to trust God’s guidance despite uncertainties, fixing their hope on the eternal Kingdom rather than worldly comforts. Pilgrims travel lightly, letting go of material attachments through generosity to stay focused on God’s purpose. They rely on Scripture and the Holy Spirit as their guide and journey together as a supportive Church community. Ultimately, the post challenges Christians to live with anticipation for the New Jerusalem, holding loosely to this world while encouraging one another toward their true home.
